Remote select button stopped working

I've been using Chromecast w/Google TV for quite a while, but recently the select button on my remote stopped working. I've had issues where I've had to go to settings and reset things before, but since it's the select button, I can't select the settings to even try that. Is there a way to get around this? I don't know if the button on the remote is actually broken or not.

Thanks for reaching out to the Chromecast Community forum! Please try the steps below:

 

  1. Remove, then replace the batteries in the Chromecast Voice Remote.
  2. If you can't reset it in the settings, please reset it on the physical device. Here's a guide: How to factory reset your Chromecast voice remote.
  3. Factory reset your Chromecast with Google TV (4K).

I gave up on this. It took too long to hear back and I just didn't want to go that long without being able to use it. Without the select button, I couldn't do anything. Thanks anyway for getting back to me.
