Plugged in new chromecast. I see nowhere where it says what version of chromecast it is. My TV says download the app on my phone. I have it. But can't get anywhere after that. It has a tab that says connect smart things, but nothing shows up under it. Yes the chromecast is on, the wifi is working.

I am sorry about the late response, thank you for being patient! Were you able to set up your Chromecast? If not, I'd be happy to help out, since I know it can be a bit daunting to get set up when issues arise. Let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:

  • Have you seen this article on how to set up the Chromecast?
  • Are you unable to see the Chromecast in the Google Home app, or do you just get an error when you select it?
  • What color is the LED light on the Chromecast?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?
