Simple instructions to set up/change wifi connection for chromecast using a computer

Simple instructions to set up/change wifi connection for chromecast using a computer?  Can anyone simply tell me how to connect my chromecast to a computer feed.  I have a new wifi box which is working fine and use a Macbook air.   Had it working before with my old wifi box after I got a computer geek to set it up.

And don't say use Googlehome - tried and can't even get it loaded!

Or doesn't anyone use computers nowadays?

Use Google Home!

Yes, you can only use Google Home on the phone to setup the Chromecast device.  During setup, just ensure that you connect it to the same WiFi network bandwidth (2.4 GHz).

Chromecast 1st generation can be used on 2.4 GHz WiFi bandwidth only.
