Have used Chromecast on Soniq TV and other devices over past 3 years with no problems. However, now I have no sound with some shows within an app e.g. Prime and sound with others. This happens in other apps as well. I have checked sound settings on both Chromecast and TV and tried changing HDMI port to no avail.

Thanks for reaching out. Let's sort this out. 

 

Is the TV connected to an external receiver, soundbar, or speakers? Does the issue persist when casting from a mobile or tablet device and from the Chrome browser? Try the steps below:

 

  1. Make sure the Chromecast is powered on and if the TV is on the right input.
  2. Make sure the device you're using with Chromecast is not muted (Examples: TV, mobile device, etc.).
  3. Make sure that the TV, sound bar, and/or receiver is not muted.
  4. Use a different HDMI device on the same HDMI input and check if audio works.
  5. Reboot the Chromecast.
  6. Unplug the TV and plug it back in after 2 minutes.
  7. Cast the same Chromecast device on a different TV (if possible).
  8. Perform a factory reset on your Chromecast.
