Suddenly, TV-off turns off Chromecast with Google TV

With the assistance of several pieces of hardware, I use wired earbuds to listen to CCwGTV at night and it worked perfectly well until this weekend when turning off the TV also turned off the Chromecast device. This is new behavior and nothing on my side changed (cables, devices, etc.) I swapped the TV for a computer monitor and it's working fine; I can turn off the monitor and still get sound. I would like to continue using the TV if I can turn it off again and stil hear sound.

• What model of TV do you have?
• Does the TV have power saving settings?
• Have you tried disabling the HDMI CEC settings on the TV?
• What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?
