TCL TV behaviour, before and after Google TV setup

Hello!

Yesterday, I set up new TCL tv set (43P639), using "basic mode", i.e. no Google activation, yet.

My remote control(s) had a nice (and quite common feature): when I press OK, the station names show up, and I can navigate to another station, without leaving the current station, until I press okay.

Then I set up my google account - and the feature was gone. In fact, when in TV mode, the arrow buttons, the okay button, and some other buttons do NOTHING anymore.

How and where can I change that back?

I googled, of course, before I wrote this, and some sites suggest there is a „set up buttons“ entry under „remotes and accessoires“, in the settings… that‘s NOT there.

Please help. This is my first smart tv. I'm very experienced on computers and phones, but here I don‘t know what to do.

Kind regards,

Gernot.

I would put fresh batteries in the remote, if that doesn't fix it, I would do a factory reset to the TV, set it back up in basic mode and see if it works as expected. If it does not I would contact TCL. If it does, then retry setting up Gogle account and see what happens. If it works the way you want great, if not contact TCL.
