Volume Spikes on STAN & PLEX

G Chromecast with TV signal into Samsung TV - audio out via optical to SONOS playbar. when switching from any other channel - ie Netflix / Prime / YTube etc audio is 'normalized' ie relatively similar in volume. However when I switch channels to either STAN or sometimes PLEX the audio comes out at like SUPER loud. I than have to control the volume coming with BOTH the Samsung remote [get it down to its lowest level] AND the Chromecast remote - also at its lowest level. No one seems to have ANY idea of how to fix this. Any help would be great thanks.

Hey there Keeraaaan,

I apologize for the late response, thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that audio issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, as this issue would bug me as well. The Google Chromecast with Google TV has Dynamic Range Compression that normalizes audio across apps, however there isn't a way for a user to change those settings. You will have to find similar settings on the device that's playing the audio. Your SONOS may have settings to normalize audio or reduce sounds. You could also try setting the audio output to Stereo, then it will down mix the audio a bit as well.

I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!

Best regards,
Jeran
