Do I just need to get a new chromecast?

Hi @ninjabenben - Sorry for the redundancy but have you tried a factory reset on your device? That might solve the glitching issue.

Yup, a couple of times since I've had it. It's annoying because it doesn't happen that often, so it takes a while of use, sometimes a couple of weeks, before the issue starts happening again.

Well after trying to talk to another google tech support (this one seemed more knowledgeable than the previous one I talked to) it was deemed my unit needs replacing. Unfortunately we looked at the warranty and it was only 4 days past the 1 year warranty mark. Despite the fact they have it documented I had this issue months ago, they said the warranty will not be honored and I'm stuck with a faulty device because it was 4 days after the warranty expiration. I feel let down by a company that I've been loyal to for many years with many products around my house, and have been pitching to others to use.
