Last several days when casting YouTube videos from Android phone to Chromecast on my TV, the videos have become extremely fuzzy or degraded. They sometimes clear up after 5 minutes. They also disconnect and become controlled by Google Home, but YouTube controls stop working. Any suggestions?

Hi Mark97525,
Thanks for reaching out. Let's sort this out.
A few questions: what's the Operating System (OS) version of your Android phone? How far are you from the TV when trying to cast? How far is the Chromecast from the router? Is this only happening with the YouTube app or across all apps?
Give these steps a try:
Let me know how it goes.
Thanks,
Jennifer

Problem is only with YouTube videos cast from my Android phone. Disney, HBO, Paramount + all cast clear and distortion free. I have tried your suggestions. Problem seems to be control flips back and forth between YouTube video controls and Google Home controls. Casting stops on YouTube, I find control has shifted to Google Home video controls.

Hey there,
Thanks for getting back to us. You may try to reinstall the Google Home app and reboot your phone again. Also, if the issue is isolated when casting from the YouTube app, please reach out to YouTube support for further help.
Thanks,
Jennifer
