Youtube stopped working on my chromecast

PauPortgas

Since yesterday evening, my chromecast can't read any Youtube content. The launch screen where we can see the logo is on the TV but no video can be read or chosen. All other apps work on my chromecast like Netflix, Prime or Crunchyroll. Anyone to help me for Youtube ?

Fixed it, I went to the Google Home App and did a factory reset on my Chromecast, set it up again (took about 3 mins)  it has worked since

Both my wife and I have the same issue, and we noticed it beginning yesterday. Will try the suggested fix. None of the others we've tried have worked.

I deleted my Home but that didn't also delete the devices like it said it would, so I had to push and hold the button on my chromecast to factory reset it. Then everything worked again. Thanks @Deedee73

HI PauPortgas

Don’t worry, I’m here to assist you. Please follow these steps in the chromecast and the device that you are using to cast

and let me know if any of them resolve the inconvenience.

Check if an app is on the latest version,

  1. Go to the Google Play Store for Android devices, or the Apple App Store for iOS devices.
  2. Search for the name of the app, then open it.
  3. Check if an update is recommended. If yes, update the app.

Uninstall and reinstall an app

Android

  1. Go to Settings and then Apps.
  2. Choose the specific app and then tap Uninstall.
  3. Go to the Google Play Store to reinstall the app.

iOS

  1. Hold down the app icon until all the icons shake.
  2. Click Remove App to delete it.

I hope this helps,

Daniel

Similar issue and this did not help. Have factory reset the chromecast, updated, uninstalled and reinstalled everything. I’m only having the issue on one of my chromecast devices despite resetting them both multiple times
