cannot download google home

When trying to download the Google Home App I get the message that my device is not compatible.

How can I still use my chromecast if I cannot download this app?

Or is there a workaround so I can download the app to my phone (Samsung SM-A310F)?

Hi Emma4,

The minimum requirements for using the Google Home app are Android 8.0 and above or iOS 14.0 and above.

I think that your mobile device is only capable of Android 7.0......

Your device:

I figured as much, as some other apps are no longer supported on my phone either. However upon closer inspection I've found that there is an option on the menu on the tv to move forward with the install without having the app on your phone. It just takes much longer..

Hi there,

Thanks for helping our customer here, Cathal_S. I appreciate it.

Emma4, yes, you can also set up the Chromecast with Google TV on your TV using the Chromecast Voice Remote just in case you don't have other supported mobile device to download the Google Home app. In the meantime, do you still need help or have other questions and concerns?

Jennifer
