chromecast 1st gen help!!! i have tried everything to set up after moving it to a different tv

i moved 1st gen to a different tv where it worked fine and now i have spent about 20 plus hours trying everything on the internet to hook this thing up to a different tv.. and it still says chromecast found, needs to be activated before setup. Help...I am losing my mind!!!

I appreciate the response but that is the error I get every time and where I am stuck. I live in the US btw.

Hi again,

A Chromecast 1st gen will need to connect with a 2.4ghz WiFi network.

If you are in the US and seeing the device needs activating then contact a Google representative.

I think it has to have something to do with my router, I have eliminated everything else. but don't know how to change bandwith on my router. It is a tri-speed router.
