I live in a building with shared WiFi what has a MAC adress filter. This means that I cannot get to the router. My nest allowed me to get the MAC address when I needed it, but my chromecast won't. I've read that this has been a recent problem, and that it's been "looked into" but I feel like its a huge inconvenience, and I just wasted fifty dollars. its 2021. this needs to be fixed. Statistically speaking, more and more households are moving to apartment living, which means a shared WiFi. If that trend continues, and this problem isn't fixed, there will be alot of angry customers out there, myself included.

Hey there baileybird,
I apologize about the late response, thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that radio issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:
If it helps, here is how to locate your Chromecast's MAC address.
I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!
Best regards,
Jeran
