chromecast history

1. Once setup, is my chromecast continously logged into my google account?

2. Is so, Is my usage history being transmitted to google?

my usage is limited to casting arbitary tabs from chrome. I'm not logged into my google account.

Hi Zimmerframe,

Thank you for posting. I'm sorry for the delayed response and for the inconvenience regarding the history.

If you are logging with the same account that is linked to your Chromecast, it's probably that it saves your history and activity there; as part of account management, if you want to avoid this happening, you just need to go to Google account settings, then Manage your Google Account, then Data and Personalization. From there, you can check your activity and history from the Google Home app and devices linked to your account to delete the history for the app.

Another option is to create another Google account just for your Google Home app to avoid any history being transmitted to your Chromecast.

Thanks for reply, My concern is not wanting to be profiled by any of these corporations.

Can I assume from your answer, The chromecast device must be logged into the google account. Normally my browsers are never logged into corp acount, If I cast from such a browser tab, the url will be captured by chromecast device & thus will be logged. But I can go and delete the chrome cast history from the chromecast google account. 

Its just a matter of time before all the corporations force data capture & profiling upon us all  - if its not already happened & just dont know it.
