chromecast not connecting to wifi after change in home router

Hello All,

I have a chromecast set up in a TV that used to work really well; since I had my internet router replaced it stopped working.

I tried:

to re-boot back to factory settings;

To try a different wi-fi zone;

What happens is that everything looks like its going well, the 'new device' is found then, I choose the wi-fi I want and then it asks if I want to use saved password. I have tried both manually and automatically, which brings me to a 'connection problem during setup' message.

Any suggestions please?

Hi fcosta,

Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue connecting your Chromecast to your new network. Let's check on this further.

Quick questions — what's the LED light status in your Chromecast (solid or flashing white)? What's the distance between the router and the Chromecast device? Please manually connect to the Chromecast SSID. Here's how: Go to the phone’s Settings > Open WiFi and connect to the Chromecast SSID (Example: Chromecast1234, Living Room TV, Bedroom TV, etc.) > Go to the Google Home app and try to set up again.

Thanks,

Jennifer
