Hello I can’t get my iPhone to connect the wireless internet to chrome-cast I keep getting this message
Family room tv may be set up, but we could not communicate with it from your iPhone. Make sure that you have enabled local network access in your privacy settings and try again
i have made sure I have enabled access to my local network. I have also registered the device with my campus internet because it’s in the college campus and still nothing

It sounds like your network has protection to keep devices from talking to each other. You want that on a big shared network to avoid other devices attacking yours. But, it breaks Chromecasts' ability to communicate.
It would be better if you added a travel router to your campus network and then connected all your devices to that travel router's network. That is secure and private and your devices will be able to talk to each other
Keep in mind that most shared networks like that are grossly overloaded so streaming may not be a smooth experience.
Also, you don't really WANT to get connected to a big shared network like that. If you did, your Chromecast would be visible to everyone else on the network and they could cast to it at any time. Using a travel router makes a private network of your own and then nobody else will be able to see your Chromecast or cast to it.

That’s very interesting. I will look into a travel router. Thank you for replying to my question.
