new Chromecast google TV remote Unpaired and stopped working

Recent purchase paired fine with TV was working great, went to use next day and remote was dead, opened back and spun batteries around the remote light came on but stays on and does not work. I tried to reset by holding Home button and taking batteries in and out. 

I do not really want to reset all of my chrome devices, I see many postings about this same issue can google replace my remote?

Use Google Home application built-in remote, navigate to the Chromecast settings - Remote and select Forget. Next, put the remote in pairing mode by holding down Back and Home buttons.

Select add remote and when the device detects it, use the Google Home remote to select Pair.

I do not see these settings in my google home application on my phone

Update Google Home application to the latest version, to be able to use its built-in remote.

The rest of the settings are on Chromecast with Google TV device.

You just use the Google Home software remote to control the Chromecast device and make the necessary settings to repair the hardware remote.

I updated and still no option to reset the remote, I understand I can use the app to control my chromecast but it does not allow me to reset the remote.

I am able to pair the remote to my phone itself but there is no reset available thru home app or video app, the options do not appear I am using a pixel4a also it does not allow the option to factory reset the new chrome. I do have the option available on my older model chromecast.

Now I can only cast to my new google TV chromecast via the actual prime application or chromecast and not via Google TV the remote is paired to phone. I have to close out app and use the direct application to connect now. This is the worst product

If you have tried updating, re-pairing and pairing, and factory resetting the device, and it's still giving you issues, please go ahead and give our Chromecast support a call for further steps, they'd be more than happy to help you out with those remote issues.
