I bought the new nest outdoor battery cameras 2nd generation. One I have plugged into AC power and the green light is on all the time. The other I have connected to a solar charger. At night, when there is no sun to charge the solar, I noticed that the camera is only on when it detects motion. If I go on the home app the camera is off until I push the 'live view' button. I assume this is to preserve battery power. Is this correct? Is there a way to make the camera live all the time even when not plugged in?

Hey NestatLAX,
Yep — that's correct. Nest Cam (battery) will go into idle mode whenever it's running on battery. To stream live video in this case, you'll first need to tap "Live video" for your camera in the Google Home app. If Nest Cam (battery) is wired, the live video will stream without needing to tap the option.
Thanks,
Archie
