Assistant loops when asked to arm Simplisafe to Hme

Gmg

Over the last week or so I have lost the ability to arm my SimpliSafe system using voice commands to my Nest Hub. For any of my nest hubs, I have 3, all on the same network, 2 are v1 and 1 is v2. Normally "I would say, Set Simplisafe to Home" and the reply would be, "Ok, Setting to Home" Now whenever I voice the "Set Simplisafe to Home" command assistant responds, "I'm not sure what level to set the SimpliSafe to, try saying set SimpliSafe to home or set SimpliSafe to away" So I say, "Set Simplisafe to Home" and assistant replies,  "I'm not sure what level to set the SimpliSafe to, try saying set SimpliSafe to home or set SimpliSafe to away" I immediately follow up with Set the Simplisafe to Home and you guessed it, assistant responds, "I'm not sure what level to set the SimpliSafe to, try saying set SimpliSafe to home or set SimpliSafe to away" and around and around we go. It loops.

Strangely, if I ask to Set Simplisafe to Away, it works just fine. I also have a bedtime routine that arms the system in home mode with no issues. So my issue occurs ONLY when asking one of my nest hubs to set SimpliSafe to Home mode. Weird huh?

Same exact issue

I spoke to Simplisafe and this is what worked.

Unlink simplisafe account on Google home

Unplug simplisafe and unscrew screw at base to expose batteries. Take batteries out. Wait full 2 minutes

Replace batteries.  Plug back in.

Link simplisafe to Google home.  I gave the set to home command and it worked.  Now, when I tried to put simplisafe in to my "home" and assign it a room, it went back to the loop. So I took ot out of my home and mow it just shows as a linked device and it works

Hey there,
Sorry for the late response, but I wanted to drop in here to help.

I understand that these issues can be confusing but I definitely wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

Just wanted to double check to see if you were still needing help on this?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Hey folks,

Since it's been a while since this thread was last updated, we'd like to check if you still need help with this.

If you're having the same issue, please give these steps a try:

  1. Try relinking your SimpliSafe system account to your Google Home app then ask your Google Home "sync my devices".
  2. Reboot your devices and router to refresh the connection.
  3. If the same thing happens, try resetting your Google Nest Hub to its default settings.

Let us know if the steps above helps,

Thanks,

Alex

Hey Gmg,

Thanks for doing those steps.

Additional questions: what's the exact command you've used and the response of your Nest Hub? Also, are you getting the same response when using Google Assistant on your phone.

Best,

Alex

It works if using my phone but that's no help to me. I own (1) OG Google Home Hub, (2) Nest Hubs, (1) Nest Hub Max, and (1) Home Max Speaker. All exhibit the exact same behavior...

Me: Hey Google, set Simplisafe to Home

Google Home or Nest Hub: I'm not sure which level to set Simplisafe to. Try saying set SimpliSafe to home or set SimpliSafe to away.

Me: Set Simplisafe to Home

Google or Nest Hub: I'm not sure which level to set Simplisafe to. Try saying set SimpliSafe to home or set SimpliSafe to away.

Me: Set Simplisafe to Away

Google or Nest Hub: I'm not sure which level to set Simplisafe to. Try saying set SimpliSafe to home or set SimpliSafe to away.

If I ask a hub for the status it will tell me if Simplisafe is Disarmed, Set to Home, or Set to Away

I have a bedtime routine that includes arming Simplisafe. If Simplisafe is disarmed when the routine is run, the routine will arm the system. If the system is already armed, it will tell me the system is already armed.

The problem persists

Hey Gmg,

Thanks for the additional information. Could you please try checking if there's an update on your Simplisafe app? Also, since it's happening to all your Google Nest devices, check with Simplisafe if there's changes on their intergration with Google Nest devices.

We'll be waiting for your update.

Thanks,

Alex

Waiting for my answer??!!! Um, thanks but no. My SimpliSafe system is completely up to date, hardware and app and works as advertised in everyway that i use it. Even Alexa works reliably with it. They perform as i see it is in Google's end and I'm not about to do that research with SimpliSafe for them. I see no help cumming from this thread. Feel free to close it, I'm done.
