August Door lock automations

Have august door lock as a device in google home. I can do an automation to lock the door, but cannot do an automation to unlock door. The menu options change for allowable actions between the two automations, and they do not include an unlock option. The only action display for an unlock automation is an entry labelled "lock" followed by a + and a -. I have reconnected app and it does not change. Lock and unlock door work fine in app, where I have both added a security code as well as check the option that a security code is not required.
