Automations for Bliss bug?

Curb71

I have smart window shades from Bliss Alta. I have routines for them to open/close at certain times of the day. Also to open/close certain ones from a voice activated command via Google Home Routines. However, they no longer work as of today. I try the voice command via Google Home and get this message: "One or more devices aren't available. You might want to try setting them up again."

I looked into the Routines (now called Automations) and all 7 that I had set say 1 starter - 0 actions.

The "action" has been removed. I try to add it back - add action/adjust home devices/ but there is nothing relevant to Bliss anymore. Just switches, outlets, TVs, etc...

Maybe the link between Bliss/Home is the issue. I go to Works with Google/BLISS Automation by Alta/ and it shows 4 devices. Those are my 4 windows. I can activate them from the Google Home app manually but it used to show 11 devices. 11 being the 4 window shades + the 7 routines for them. Aside from controlling them manually from the app, I can no longer control them via Automations though as the "scenes" created in the Bliss app can no longer be seen in the Home app.

I spoke to Bliss and they said it's an issue on the Google side and there's nothing they can do.

Hi Curb71,

Thanks for reaching out and I know how it feels when something isn’t working as it should. Let me help you. A few questions: what Nest speaker do you own? When did the issue begin? Were there any recent changes made before it started?

I look forward to your response.

Regards,

Juni

I have nest minis if that's considered a speaker. Nest hub too. The issue began when I made the post. The only changes made prior to the issue was changes that were made to Google Home by Google.

Hey Curb71,

Chiming in to ensure everything is covered here. To confirm, have you tried unlinking and re-linking your Bliss account from the Google Home app?

Cheers,

Muddi

Hello Curb71,

Sorry for the delays. Have you tried calling Bliss Alta support to check if they're getting similar reports about the issue?

Inactivity from who? No one can or cares to figure out the problem so you just give up?

Sorry I now see that there were additional replies from you that I never saw till now. But no, It's still unresolved. I did contact them of course and they said it's an issue on your end. I even found a relevant post on Reddit where someone had the same issue. Ironically it all started when the Google Home app got a big remake over. Is there no one that can look into the issue? All I can tell you is that it did work and now it doesn't.

I am having the same issue. Worked fine for a year - now doesn’t work.

I guess you were only interested in locking the thread? I'm still at step one with zero help waiting.

Hello there,

Got it. Create a new home and link your device there, then observe if this will make a difference. See the steps below on how to create a new home structure.

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home.
  2. At the top, tap Add Add.
  3. Tap Create new home.
  4. Follow the steps.

Note: You can have up to 5 homes in your account.

Thanks,

Juni

Hi,

I am having the same issue with my Bliss Alta shades, and after multiple re connection attempts with the specialist for the company, they have said it must be an internet or firewall issue on the Google nest side.

Finally somebody else with the same setup and issue. I think they basically consider it a user error if I'm the only one complaining.

I wish there was somebody that would actually look into it.

Hey folks,

Sorry for the delays. To confirm, are you having issues reconnecting your Bliss account from the Google Home app? What message are you getting when you re-link your account?

Hi KTenery,

Thanks for confirming. What specific Google or Nest WiFi do you have?

Hi,

Thanks for responding. I am just unable to connect to the device app via Wi-Fi. I am not using Google home app to access it. It appears to be a Firewall issue, but I have removed all that I can. This just started back in July, before then I had no issues accessing the device through my iPhone. I was just wondering if there was a Google nest update that had launched around that time that is now prohibiting me from using the device through my home Wi-Fi. No other devices I have connected seem to be affected. I have reached out to the Bliss company who runs the device and they say it must be a router/Wi-Fi issue. Any help on this is appreciated. Thank you.
