Automations tiles missing from Favourites tab

This has happened multiple times before over more than a year. Intermittently, usually just because I've rebooted the phone or dinner other innocuous task - all the automation tiles disappear from the Favorites tab in the Google Home app and the Pixel's Quick  Settings -> Home shortcut. 

All the devices are still there and work. The automations are all still listed in the Automations tab of the app, but they are no longer in the Favorites tab, and they aren't options any more to add to that tab. 

It only affects automations that use the "new" YAML scripting. "Normal" automations built through the UI can still be added to favourites (but I don't use these) 

Although I can still see and edit my script based automations in the app, I cannot create any new ones, only the old style UI builder automations can be created. 

I've rebooted again multiple times; uninstalled and reinstalled the app; force close/clear cache; exited preview program and rejoined none of which helped

From doing that I can see that it looks like YAML based automations are still only available in Preview, amazingly! The fact I can see and edit my scripts but cannot create more, and it's only the script based ones I cannot add to favourites, this is clearly a bug that the Preview flag isn't working properly to expose that whole feature.

Update: seems I can still both create and edit YAML automations, but those automations still cannot be added as favourites and the ones that were previously favourites are still absent

I have the same issue. Scripted YAML automations disappeared from the favorites tab and cannot be added back.

Only happened? Last week? Has it happened to you before and corrected it itself after a short period?

It has happened before, but not for this long. It was usually restored in a day.

Yep, same. It's been a week now. Previously another reboot or stop/clear or reinstall the app would resolve it

This does not address the bug. Is it receognized by Google? When will it be fixed?

I've been having this exact issue for the last several weeks. Scripted automations intermittently disappear in the google home app, from both the automations tab, but also the favorites tab. As of today, they have reappeared in automations tab, but do not show up as an option to add when editing favorites. Interestingly, there are blank tiles on my favorites tab where my scripted automations used to be. Reinstall and cache clearing seems to fix it for a day or so until they disappear again.

Interesting. Not quite the same but similar. I don't lose the actual automations, they are present and accounted for. Just lose the shortcut versions of them in the Favorites tab in the Home app and in the Quick Settings Home tile. And reinstalling/cache doesn't fix it at all.

The more recent behavior over the last two weeks(ish) is closer to what you describe: scripted automations disappear from the favorites tab but still appear in the automations tab. It was only the first few times this issue occurred when the scripted automations also disappeared from the automations tab. They were still accessible and functional in the web portal, and reappeared in the automations tab after a reinstall of the app. Recently, I have not had them disappear from the automations tab, but they are still unavailable to add when I edit the favorites tab.  I've now submitted a DSCC Feedback Form as well.

I can't find an option to add an automation to my favorites in order to get it to appear on the Google Home iOS Widget. Anyone know how to fix or is this not an available feature?

I also faced this issue a few times, the automation tiles in favourite and automation tabs kept disappearing and reappearing since a long time inside the android app. Last month, it completely disappeared. However, the automations are working and can edit / create new scripts using the google home automation webpage.

Now I have created tuya virtual switches for all click to run automations and using these switches as the triggers in the scripts. It works and since google home app treats these as physical devices(means add as favourite, create widgets), no bugs so far.
