My daughter is 7. She wants to play "The Arthur podcast" and other things that are tailored to kids. We put a Google home mini in her room and set up a new voice match for her on her Kids profile. When she says "Hey Google, play the Arthur podcast" it asks if she wants it to play on the Hub in our kitchen or the Family Room TV or the Basement TV (the 3 devices in our house with screens). Before we did voice match with her it would start on any speaker in our house and open with my Spotify account because that was the default player in my account. I am trying to set her up so it works on another platform, either Youtube music (free), Amazon music, Spotify (free), Audacy, etc. I'd even settle for letting her use my Spotify premium as it was before her voice match was setup (although not ideal).

Hello rinsk21,
Thanks for reaching out to the Google Community Forum. I understand that you want to play more content with the Voice Match ideal for your daughter in other music streaming services. No worries, I'm happy to help.
I can suggest checking out this article: Let your child use Google Assistant on your devices to learn more about how this feature works.
If you want to use YouTube for kids, visit this help article: Understand YouTube & YouTube Kids options for your child, because you need to set up parental control. To play another music service, you need to be specific in your request, for example, “Hey Google, play kids music on YouTube.”
Please let me know if these suggestions were helpful.
Best regards,
Daniel

Thanks, Daniel. That answer links the article I used to set this up. It says:
Children under 13 can take many of the same actions as adults, like:
That's the exact problem I'm trying to solve. It will NOT allow her to listen to podcasts or songs.

Hey rinsk21,
Thank you so much for keeping me updated. In this case, I recommend following these steps to Set up parental controls on Google Assistant devices because you have the ability to customize and restrict your child's online experience.
To restrict content accessibility on your Google Nest Home Mini for your child, it is recommended that you initially Set up Google Nest or Home speakers or displays for your child and manage the features that you want to use.
I'll look forward to your response.
Regards,
Daniel

I removed all restrictions whatsoever to see if that would work and it doesn't. It's all of the devices, and I've tried factory resetting them so it isn't a device problem. Personal results are turned on. When she asks to play a podcast, it starts MY Spotify account, and all I want is for it to start ANY other application or her own (free) spotify account to play something.

Hi rinsk21,
I appreciate your continuous communication and the effort you've put into the troubleshooting steps taken.
To get specific albums, songs, artists, or searches, I advise you to use Spotify Premium. I also suggest checking out this article: Listen to music on Google Nest speakers and displays to use the recommended voice command for all the content providers. If you prefer to use another music streaming service, be specific with your request. For example: "Hey Google, play music on YouTube."
I'll be looking forward to hearing back.
Regards,
Daniel

That doesn't work. If she says "play XXX podcast on Youtube" or "Youtube Music" or whatever, it says that it can't. If that worked, it would solve the problem. But the ONLY thing it allows is for her to start Spotify with MY account. All I want is for the devices to recognize her voice and start a podcast or music on ANY other app OTHER than Spotify. Youtube music, amazon music, audacy, etc.

Hello rinsk21,
I appreciate you keeping me in the loop. In this case, I recommend you use the Voice Match feature; with this option, Google Assistant will learn your voice to provide you personal results. Visit this article: Turn on voice recognition with Voice Match to learn more about it and activate it.
Let me know how it goes.
Best regards,
Daniel

Yes, Voice Match is already set up. It recognizes her. It just refuses to start another podcast/music app other than the one associated with my (primary) account.

Did you ever win? I have been having this same issue for over a year. My child is 13 and we manage them with family link. Voice match is set up with all restrictions turned off and they can't play a podcast or playlist. The assistant days that the podcast can't be found or isn't available. If I ask, it plays right away.

Like Taylor Swift n other music celebrities curating her playlists, customize your daughter’s Google Home Mini: set her default player (YouTube Music, Spotify, etc.) in the app, ensuring her voice match plays kid-friendly content hassle-free!
