Wemo devices in Google Home became unavailable. Tried everything like clearing caches but cannot reconnect. Get "cannot reach Wemo, try again" error.

Hello Community,
Many users have reported issues with devices becoming unavailable in Google Home, often accompanied by the "cannot reach Wemo, try again" error. Despite efforts like clearing caches and resetting devices, the connection problem persists for many. This appears to be a recurring integration issue between cloud service and Google Home. While Belkin works on a permanent fix, a reliable workaround is to try using NetMirror, which offers better local device discovery and control without relying solely on unstable cloud links.
Sounds Good?

Well seems that our bitching paid off. Just tried and was finally able to link all my Wemo switches and plugs back in Google Home. I will have to return the Alexa I ordered. But I am happy a fix was done, hopefully this will outlast the devices themselves!!

Yes working for me also.

Still not working for me! This is incredibly annoying, especially after going through uninstalling and reconfiguring wemo app and devices. Google is going to finally succeed in driving me to the Apple prison (or back to a flip phone and no smart home devices).

Yeah noticed that my devices all went gray over the weekend. Not removing them this time as the voice commands are still working.
Was probably a consequence of the Big Beautiful Bill...

Today my Wemo devices went offline in Google Home [again].
They still work in Wemo App, and can reconnect Wemo account from Google Home.

Bad new this morning.
After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to end technical support for older Wemo products, effective January 31, 2026.
What this means for you:

So tired of this. Between Google removing support for Nest thermostats and now this, these companies are forcing us to buy new hardware to replace hardware that works perfectly fine because they want to sell new hardware. Profit isn't a dirty word, but Belkin clearly isn't even offering an alternative. It's disappointing, to say the least.
