Connecting Google Nest to Dodo ISP

JDPell

I recently purchased a Google Nest Router and 2 x points to replace my Huawei router which is over 5 yrs old and dying ie. Wifi kept droping out more frequently over time. My ISP is Dodo. After much ado I finally got the google nest wifi to connect to the internet and here is how:

- Connect ethernet cable from Google Nest Router WAN to LAN port 1 on the Huawei router.

- Power up the Google nest router

- Use the Google Home App on you iphone, select Devices, Select Add +

- Select the Google Nest Router

- After about 3 mins it will fail to to connect but you will be offered to select Internet Settings

- Tick the DHCP box only - Do Not select anything else.

- Select Save on the top right hand corner.

- Let it detect the Google Router again and it should then give you new options to connect to the internet.

- Set up your network name, password and then the extender points.

So far I am not experiencing any interference from the old wifi (Double NAT) but it is there if I want to select it.

Good luck. Hope this helps.

Oh and by the way if you are experiencing drop outs because of dodo wifi still being on, you can trun off the dodo wifi by logging on to the Huawei router (192.168.1.1) and untick the 2.4ghz and 5g frequencies, then press save. Done. NO more conflict. Did it last night and the Google Nest Wifi is great. Good luck.
