Hello there,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Community Forum. I understand that accidentally you deleted your Google Chromecast 3 gen from the Google Home app, but don’t worry, I’m more than happy to help you re-add it again.

Let’s try to perform these steps.

  • Ensure your Chromecast is plugged into a power source and has a stable connection to your TV.
  • Open the Google Home app on your phone or tablet.
  • Add Device:
  1. Tap the plus (+) icon in the top right corner.
  2. Select "Set up device."
  3. Choose "Have a device you already set up?"
  • Select Chromecast:
  • Tap "Next" and wait for your Chromecast to appear in the list.
  • If it doesn't appear, try restarting your Chromecast or router.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions:
  • Once your Chromecast is found, follow the on-screen instructions to re-add it to your Google Home app. This might involve using a code or a QR code.

For your reference, check out this article: Set up your Chromecast device (3rd gen or older).

  • Factory Reset: If everything else fails, you can factory reset your Chromecast. To do so, unplug it from power, press and hold the button on the side for at least 30 seconds, and then plug it back in.

For additional information, you can consult this article: How to factory reset your Chromecast.

If you have more questions, feel free to write in this post.

Best regards,

Daniel
