Doorbell not sending notifications to my android phone

Hi there

It seems this is a relatively common problem, but the resolution doesn't seem to be so obvious!

I have a Google doorbell, battery model. I don't use the nest app, only Google Home.  Until about 2 weeks ago, I was receiving notifications on my phone, a samsung galaxy s24. The notifications have stopped, but I've powered up my old phone (samsung galaxy s21 I think...) and that's still receiving the notifications!

  • Removed, wiped and reinstalled the doorbell as a new device.
  • Ensured notifications are turned on for the Home App (specifically for the doorbell).
  • Ensure all my relevant 'your notifications' for are active in my zones.
  • Cleared cache on Home App. 
  • Reinstalled Home App (both devices) and reinstalled.
  • Toggled the phone notifications off and back on again in the phone settings 
  • Deleted and recreated my zones

Does anyone have any suggestions beyond this please?
