I have a pair of Bose Model 21 bookshelf speakers that I'd like to use with my streaming services via Google Home. I'm considering to purchase a amplifier to power the speakers. Do you know if I will need the amplifier to have integrated WiFi or Bluetooth to enable me to connect to Google Home and stream audio to the speakers?

Hey Trayraynor,
You can stream music that plays on your Google Nest or Home speaker or display to your favorite Bluetooth speakers or headphones. You can visit this link for more information.
Hope it answers your questions.

Alex

Not really helpful; the article you linked is focused on connecting to a Bluetooth speaker. I'm interested in finding a power amplifier or receiver that has wired connection for the Bose speakers, and that contains a Bluetooth or WiFi interface to enable me to connect to Google Home.

Hello Trayraynor,
Understood. We don't have any information if you can connect any power amplifier or receiver to your Bose speaker since it's already out of our scope. To play music to your Google Home or Google Nest speaker, it's either ask it directly by linking your music provider or connecting any Bluetooth speaker to it. You can also create a speaker group if you have any Google Nest speakers and displays so all devices play the same audio throughout the house. I'd suggest contacting Bose support for additional information about your desired set up.
Regards,
Alex

There's been a misunderstanding; the question is: is it possible to connect a Bluetooth enabled or WiFi enabled amplifier to Google Home; and subsequently stream music?
And, I have a somewhat related question: when I use Google Chromecast, does it communicate exclusively via Bluetooth, or, is it capable of casting via WiFi?

Hi there,
Sorry for the confusion. Connecting a Bluetooth enabled or WiFi enabled amplifier to Google Home isn't supported. You can only connect Bluetooth speakers or headphones to Google Home and Google Nest speakers or displays.
On the other hand, casting to Chromecast communicates more on Wi-Fi connection since your devices should be connected to the same network to cast. You can check this guide for more information.
Best,
Alex
