My google Wifi router requires to be connected to a  Ethernet cable and does not recognize the main nest wifi router.

Yes, whether you use a Google Wifi device as a router or point, it's the same hardware.

Is that a screen you're seeing in the Google Home app? If you have already set up a Nest Wifi network, you should be able to add Google Wifi points by following the steps to add a point to a Nest Wifi network.

Sorry, for my installation it did not work  - 

I spent like 4 days testing on it.

Google Wifi Router as master node with trying Nest Wifi Router as inner mesh node and vice versa.

Doing a lot of factory resets on almost very component (ok, no reset of nest mini, nest and other speakers)

I probably got European components, that seem not really mature and tested - even with having a done firmware updates.

An quite frustrating experience having it send back to seller . Price for Google Wifi Router is on the limit (70€) - Nest Wifi Access Point with 130€ being too expensive. Moving now to Xiaomi
