Hi @mohanahmed

Regaining access to a Gmail account with 2-step verification (2SV) when you've forgotten your PIN requires alternative methods. Here's how you can try to recover your account:

Using a backup code:

  1. Do you have backup codes? These are codes generated during 2SV setup specifically for situations like this. If you have them saved somewhere secure, enter one of the codes on the login screen after entering your password.

  2. Retrieve backup codes (if not already used): If you haven't used your backup codes yet, you can still access them through your Google Account settings on a device where you're already signed in. Here's how:

    • Go to https://www.google.com/account/about/ on a trusted computer or phone (not the one you're locked out of).
    • Sign in to your Google Account (if not already signed in).
    • Click on "Security."
    • Under "2-Step Verification," select "Show codes" (you might need to enter your password again).
    • You'll see a list of backup codes. Copy one of these codes and use it on the login screen where you forgot your PIN.

Using your recovery phone number or email:

  1. Go to the Google Account recovery page: Visit https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/41078?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop.
  2. Enter your email address: Type in the Gmail address you're trying to access.
  3. Click "Next" and follow the prompts: Google will likely ask you to enter the last password you remember. If you can't recall it exactly, enter an approximation.
  4. Choose your recovery method: You'll be prompted to choose a recovery method - either a phone number or email associated with your account. Select the method you have access to.
  5. Receive and enter the verification code: Google will send a verification code to your chosen method (text message or email). Enter that code on the recovery page.
  6. Reset your PIN: Once the code is verified, you'll be able to create a new PIN for your account.

Important points:

If none of these methods work:

  • If you don't have backup codes or can't access your recovery options, you might need to contact Google Support directly. They can offer further assistance based on your specific situation.

Here are some additional resources that might be helpful:

I hope this helps you regain access to your Gmail account!

How to recover my email address

Hi @Sankarch,

Unfortunately, it's not possible to recover your email address itself if you've forgotten it completely. However, there are ways to find it if you have some recollection of it:

  • Do you remember the email provider? (e.g. Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook) Most email providers allow you to search for your account using your name or recovery information.

  • Do you log in anywhere else with the same email address? Many social media platforms and online stores allow you to sign in with your email address. If you can remember where you used it, you can try logging in there to jog your memory about the full address.

Now, if you mean to recover your email password, the post above will help you with that.

Regards,

Brandon.
