I replaced my old aging thermostat in my house with a Google Nest Thermostat and had it running with the Google Home App.
It seemed obvious when I bought the thermostat that there would be a remote temperature sensor to control the temperature of specific rooms. I thought I would buy it later. But every Nest Remote sensor only seems to work with either the (A) The Nest Learning Thermostat (B) Nest Thermostat E ...but not with the Nest Thermostat. Like this one that I bought
Feels like this must be some type of a joke on me !! Is there really no remote temperature sensor to control the Nest Thermostat ? I cannot find on Amazon.
Folks, please enlighten me if you could.

You have Nest Thermostat (2020) which is not compatible with either generation of Nest Temperature Sensor unfortunately. There are two generations of the Nest Temperature Sensor, both are compatible with the Google Nest Thermostat E and Google Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd gen and 4th gen). Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) comes with a Nest Temperature Sensor (2nd gen), but older temperature sensors are compatible as well.

Thank for taking the time to reply, David, and confirming what I learned (late, but eventually).
Not great Engineering by Nest to not have a Nest Sensor work with a Nest Thermostat and even worse Marketing that makes all this rather unclear. I see others on Amazon Reviews learning all this the hard way. Also, I don't understand why Nest Engineering doesn't make it work if it has been so many years - is there a technical limitation ?
Be as it may, my options at this point being limited, I wanted to double check if anyone knows of third party remote temperature sensors compatible with Google Home that could work with Nest Thermostat and could provide a solution. I have not seen any on Amazon but no harm asking !
Thanks again.

The answer to that is also no I believe unfortunately, I've certainly not seen any third party temperature sensors that are compatible with Nest Thermostats.

The Google Nest Thermostat (2020) was designed for people who wanted a basic thermostat without the fancy features of the other Nest thermostats. It was never intended to support the temperature sensor.
