Gentle Wake Up

I just bought Sylvania Smart+ WiFi lightbulbs. I got them linked to the Google Home app fine. The purpose I bought them for is to use the Gentle Wake feature. Unfortunately when I tell Google Assistant, "Turn on Gentle Wake Up in Master Bedroom," the response I get is, "Sorry, Gentle Wake Up doesn't work with alarms set on your phone yet. Instead, you can use a Google Home device or smart display." I do not have any other Google Home devices other than my phone. I am using a Google Pixel 4a. Can anyone help me set this feature up?

I don't see it available in Routines, either. First, I can't set a routine to a specific time. And second, it will only turn the lights on or off, not gradually brighten.

I have already read that page, and it does not provide any insight into why I can't use the feature on my phone alarms. Currently, I have decided to spend the money to buy the Google Nest Mini to try my hand with that.
