So I would like to report an issue that the Smart Life App is setup for Fahrenheit but just recently Google Home reports as Celsius. I have tried unlinking and relinking, even deleted and readded. as you can see other temperature sensors report in Fahrenheit just not the Smart Life Interfaces. Please Advise as in the US we don't use Celsius.

So, how do I report to Google? Ignoring that there is a problem or telling me to report to Smart Life does not fix the issue. Smart Life has responded to multiple emails and their software is correct. please advise.

Dear user,
Thank you for your patience and sorry for the inconvenience. Regarding the problem you reported, through technical personnel's investigation, we found that the problem that the Smart Life App displays Fahrenheit temperature and the Google Home displays Celsius is that the Google voice solution of the product is not configured with the temperature scale switching voice command. It is recommended that you directly feedback to the seller or manufacturer of the product so that they can optimize it later.
As a Developer platform, Tuya Smart helps manufacturers and developers achieve product smartification, but we are not the direct manufacturer or seller of the product.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
The above is an eMail back from Smart Life / Tuya and stating that it's Google or Sensor Issue. Sensor have not changed just Google and Smart Life software updates, So again pointing fingers and just ignoring the issue is unacceptable. How do I report to Google? yes, I have done feedback but that is just a back hole.

Dear user,
Thanks for your reply.
We are sorry for keeping you waiting and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience in resolving the matter.
Thank you for your understanding, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you're experiencing. Unfortunately, we do not have direct contact with the manufacturer. If this issue arises again, we recommend that you reach out directly to the seller, who can then communicate with the manufacturer on your behalf.
Regarding your query, we've conducted another review and found that some products can indeed switch temperature units even if they aren’t configured in the voice settings. You can do this by changing the temperature unit in the app’s personal center and then resyncing with Google Home. Based on your logs, it appears that you synchronized around the 26th, which may have caused the temperature unit to sync as well.
In the future, if you encounter similar issues, please try switching the temperature unit in the app first, then resyncing with Google Home. If the problem persists, we would be happy to investigate further to see if it relates to the voice settings.
Thanks for your support and understanding, have a nice day.

It's correct in the Smart Life App. it's the Google Home App that is incorrect. I have reported to both companies but pointing fingers will not fix anything. unless the interface message should be sent as the desired Celsius vs Fahrenheit method. Please fix...

Also Google Assistant under Settings | Weather; Preferred temperature unit takes you to blank screen unable to set preferred Celsius or Fahrenheit. but note Google Assistant works for other vendors interfaces, Honeywell and YoLink for example work

So someone fixed the interface. I would love to know who so I can thank them. or the next time this issue happens I can direct the issue to the correct person.

I m happy for you but it is not the case for me 😞 i wonder why
11-27-2024 08:08 AM
I did add two YoLink temperature sensor to replace 2 of my 4 non working Smart Life temperature sensor and my smart life started to work. I guess both Google and Smart Life did nothing, and somehow I tricked the interface by adding one that I know was sending Fahrenheit to Google. it's a shame that they don't take responsibility for their products. Google is too big and no support and Smart Life just a software company that does not take responsibility for hardware that is written for their interface. Smart Life suggested I contact hardware vendor of the sensor, but they are cheap China companies unbranded.
I would suggest if you have another temperature sensor non smart life, try adding and see if it works.

i do have other temp sensors both in smart life and philips that are working fine.
Only one of them is in the wrong unit
11-28-2024 08:28 AM
Odd that both are philips and one working and one not. I would of suggested removing working and readding but would hate to have working stop. where mine was yolink has always worked and when I added another it fixed smart life as well. you gotta love this.
