Hi There,
new to the community but been building my Google Home for a few years now. I have a couple of air cons linked through Smart Life (Tuya) and Genio IR blasters. Since maybe a year ago now the ability to turn the air cons on/off through the app disappeared. I can successfully turn these same devices on/off by voice but if it’s the middle of the night I like to be able to control devices manually through the app and all I can do with the air cons now in the Google Home App is control their temperature and mode. I’ve tried different combinations of things to try turn them on a off like long pressing the AirCon tile, simply changing the temperature in a hope it also sends the on command but none of that works. All I can do is click the microphone icon at the bottom of Google Home App, chose to type the command to turn on specific air con. Also the air cons can be controlled fine and with more functionality directly through the Smart Life app. I also just tried unlinking and linking again the Smart Life app but all that did is forced me to add all my devices to their correct rooms again 🤦🏼♂️
What happened to the On/Off function? Is it a Smart Life app thing? Is it a Google Home App thing?
Surely this isn’t by design!

Hi dwhiffin,
Thanks for reaching out and providing detailed information on your issue and the steps that you've done — these are of great help!
Is the Google Home app updated? Is this the only device that changed its function aside from the other ones linked to your Google Home app? If you already force-close and reopen the Google Home app, you can reboot your phone to refresh the device. Uninstalling and reinstalling your Google Home app might help too. To further isolate the issue, you can use another phone and check if it will make a difference.
Let me know how it goes.
Regards,
Juni
