I had a routine that was telling me via my Nest Hub when the dishwasher was done.
Sometimes when it was done in the evening, it would randomly play on other devices like the Nest Mini in my son's room, waking him up (the routine was set to only be active up until 11 pm anyway, but no reason for it to switch to a different device, especially at ~9PM. My Nest Hub is in "do not disturb" from 11 PM also, so is the Nest Mini in my son's room).
So I deleted it.
Only problem is, it's still active. And I can't get it to stop. I have now implemented a workaround for the childrens' rooms to go into DnD earlier, but now I get angry every time I DO hear that my dishwasher is done (because it should be deleted ....)
I've read about the method where you delete ALL your automations/routines that supposedly gets rid of ghost routines. But that's not really an option for me with ~20 automations, some relatively complex.
Anything I can do aside from starting from scratch?

Try factory resetting the device it continues to play on. This worked for me.
