Two issues.

1 - Can't delete actions added into custom routine.

2 - Routine's Add a Starter isn't showing Options like Time

Hey BigLxpress,

Thanks for visiting the Community.

You can try these steps in deleting or editing your custom routines.

Delete a custom routine.

  1.  Open the Google Home app.
  2. Tap Routines.
  3. Select a custom routine to delete.
  4. At the upper-right, tap Delete > Delete routine.

Change the actions of a routine.

  1. Open the Google Home app > tap Routines.
  2. Choose a routine to edit.
  3. Edit the action > tap Save

Under How to start: Add starter (required) > you can choose from the following options:

  • Voice command: Start the routine with a voice command like "Let's get ready."
Note: To add multiple phrases, tap Add another.
  • (Optional) Time: Choose the time and day when the routine triggers.
  • (Optional) Sunrise/sunset: The routine triggers at the time the sun rises and sets, based on a chosen location.
  • (Optional) Dismiss an alarm: Automatically start a routine when an alarm is dismissed on a speaker or display.

Best,

Alex

Selecting the routine to delete opns it. When in the routine the upper right hand corner has the three dots. Selecting the three dots has 4 menu items: My Activity, Google activity controls, Help, and Send feedback. Where is Delete found?

Changing the actions of a routine:

I can reorder actions or edit actions. But I cannot delete an action or remove an action within an existing routine. Say I have 5 actions and I want to reduce the routine to 2 of those actions. How is that done?

In a routine after I click the Add starter button besides the closer X in the upper left hand corner I see the following:

Add starter

Chose how this Routine will start

[A single box stating] When an alarm is dismissed 》

Selecting When an alarm is dismissed opens a new window regarding Dismiss an alarm.

How do I find and add the optional Time: chose the time and day the routine triggers?

Hi there,

Thanks for the additional details. On creating a custom routine, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. Tap Routines and then Add near the bottom of the screen.
  3. Under “How to start,” tap Add starter and then choose the trigger you want for your Routine.
    • (Optional) Time: Have your Routine activate at a specific time.

Can you check if you can see that option available?

Best,

Princess

That option is not available. When Add Starter is selected there is only one line shown -> ""When an alarm is dismissed". There are no other items seen.

Hi BigLxpress,

Thanks for checking. Can you check if the Home app on your phone is updated? Also, let's try to use a different phone so we can check if you will also get the same option.

Best,

Princess

Hello BigLxpress,

Thanks for all the details. Have you tried clearing the cache and data of your Google Home app, then reinstalling it? Is it also happening when you're using a different device? Also, what country are you located in?

Regards,

Alex
