Google Home Won't Recognize 2nd August Lock

 I have connected my August lock through the works with Google feature. Everything works great. I recently bought a second lock and tried to reconnect the account so Google could recognize the new device but it will not. I have tried completely unlinking and re linking with no success.

😩I am embarrassed to admit, it was a setup error on my end with the August App, not the integration or linking....Thank you for all the support.

Google Nest is discontinuing support of "Works with Google" on Sept. 29, 2023. I don't know if that explains your issue.

kmc89, thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. SInce unlinking and relinking did not work, try to Reboot your Wi-Fi router and do the same thing to the 2nd August lock once the router is back up then attempt to relink it.

No luck. I restarted the router and then unlinked/linked the August locks to google home but no change... 😞

Hi there,

 

Thanks for the additional details you’ve shared. Try to create a new home structure and move your devices there. Unlink August's locks to your current home, link them to the new one, and observe if both locks show up at the new home. Check out the steps below on how to create a new home structure:

 

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. Tap Settings Add.
  3. Select Home.
  4. Follow the steps.

Note: You can have up to 5 homes in your account.
