Google Home not able to link to Vizio Smartcast

Each time I try to link Google Home to Vizio Smartcast, I keep getting this screen yet nothing appears on the TV. I have tried all 3 TV's listed and still nothing appears.

Thanks for visiting the Community.

 

I know how challenging it is when you're having issues linking your Vizio TV to the Google Home app. To confirm, are you able to cast manually from your phone to TV?

 

Please try the steps below that may help us fix the issue:

 

  1. Make sure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same WiFi or linked to the same account as your Chromecast, or speaker or display.
  2. Open the Google Home app.
  3. Tap Devices > Add New Device .
  4. Tap the home you want to add the device to Next.
  5. Tap the device you want to set up. The app will search for available devices and guide you through the rest of the setup.

I tried the steps given above, but they don't work. I need to "link" to the appropriate service, in this case Vizio SmartCast, but it doesn't get that far. It keeps wanting to link to Google Assistant then it wants to show a code on the TV selected. Problem is that it doesn't show said code on the TV.

Hi there,

 

Thanks for trying. The nest best thing to do is to call your TV manufacturer so they can further check what's going on. Also, they will be able to check if your TV is compatible with the Google Home/Nest devices.
