Google Mini (1st Gen) will not connect to Wi-Fi

Hi, I have two 1st Gen Minis that will not connect to my new Wi-Fi set up, even when changed to 2.4GHz to allow for Smart Device Connection. I was able to connect my 2nd Gen after a few tries.

There's another post from 2022 ("Google home and home mini (1st gen) won't connect to Wi-Fi") that outlined the steps to follow, and I was able to do all of those (with no success) except for connecting the Mini to a mobile hotspot. I failed at that attempt because I didn't really understand how to do it. My location services are enabled. I disconnected mobile data.  I moved the minis to within 10 feet of the router/modem.  I performed a factory reset on both. I tried to set up a second home to see if they would connect there.  I keep getting an error message that says "Could not communicate with your Google Home Mini."

I was able to get in a Chat with google support, and they fixed the issue by having me uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app and enable ALL permissions and services for the Google Home app.  After doing this, both of mine that weren't connecting connected with no problem.
