Google Nest Learning Thermostat

I'm unable to regulate the temperature on the Nest app. It's not showing any options.  It also seems to be offline frequently.  It's the Google Nest Learning Thermostat.  It's new. Only had it 3 days.  Tried troubleshooting it. Still not resolving issues.  Any recommendations to permanently resolving these issues?

To provide you with accurate troubleshooting steps, I would appreciate your assistance in answering the following questions:

  • Does the thermostat display show any error codes or messages?

  • Are you trying to connect to the 2.4 GHz or the 5 GHz network?

  • Is your thermostat up to date?

  • Can your other Wi-Fi-capable devices (phone, tablet, computer) connect to the internet through your Wi-Fi network?

  • How far away is the thermostat from the router?

  • Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the thermostat?

Thank you Thank you Thank you for reaching out to me and assisting with my issues.

I am including a photo of the Nest Learning Thermostat.  It seems to be stuck on "testing out the heat"  It will not move from this display.  I'm not sure what network I'm trying to connect to.  I have Verizon internet.  The Thermostat is up to date. It's brand new.  Installed on January 3 2025. I'm not having any issues with other devices connecting to the wi-fi. The router is about 10 ft away from the Thermostat.  I have a printer about 6 ft away,  and a small microwave about 8 ft away from the Thermostat.  The microwave is unplugged.  I hope this is helpful in resolving this matter.  Oh I forgot to mention the heat works.  However I'm  not able to regulate the temperature.  Thank you again for reaching out to me.  Look forward to your response.  Have a good day.

Thank you so much for keeping me updated. So let’s explore more troubleshooting options. 

  • Reboot your thermostat: hold down the thermostat’s display for about 10 seconds, and then your thermostat will restart. 

  • Use a hotspot: If you have a wifi hotspot available to use, try to reconnect the thermostat and check if this device can recognize this network. 

  • Verify if the thermostat can detect other Wi-Fi networks.

  • Reboot your Wi-Fi router. 

  • Check if the thermostat is charged: Go to settings, then technical information, choose power, and verify if it is charged to 3.8 V or more.
