Google Nest mini

I have updated my address in Google Home. But my Google Nest Mini pods still think I have my old address and they give me weather reports for my previous home. I have followed ALL online instructions but nothing works. Please help. Thank you.

Hey Lucy2,

Thanks for reaching out — let me help you out.

Give these steps a try:

Change home and work locations.

  1. Make sure the customer's mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as the speaker or display.
  2. Open the Google Home app.
  3. At the top-right, tap the account icon.
  4. Verify the Google Account on screen is the one linked to the speaker or display. To switch accounts, tap the dropdown arrow > choose another account or Add another account.
  5. Tap Assistant Settings.
  6. Tap You > Your places.
  7. To edit a home or work address, tap the current address > type a new address > OK.
  8. To remove a home or work address, tap Remove X next to the address.

Change the home address.

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. At the top, make sure the home name is listed. If needed, tap the name to change the home.
  3. Tap Settings > Home information > Home address.
  4. Enter the address > Save.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Alex

I tried these instructions but they did not work. On Google Home it has my new address. But the Google mini pod still thinks I live at the old one and gives me weather for the old one. I have tried to make sure they’re on the same network, but I’m not sure if I was successful. How do I verify that Google Home and the mini pod are on the same network?

Hey Lucy2,

Here's how to check if your Google speakers are connected to the same network:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Tap the device card of the preferred speaker or display.
  3. At the top right, tap Settings > Device information > Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi network listed is the network the device is currently connected to.

If they are on the same network, could you try resetting your Home Mini to its default settings?

Regards,

Alex
