Google home and YouTube Music

When I am at home the Google Home play using the YouTube Music from my account which is linked to Google home and YouTube Music and I have subscription, when I am not at home my wife request to play she doesn't have subscription and is not linked to her device the Google Home and YouTube Music, she can't play the music what she wants. Should I install the Google Home and YouTube Music in her device using my account? Or is it possible to connect my account into Google Home and YouTube Music to make it standard?

Hi Mm18,

Thanks for reaching out here in the community! I’m sorry to hear that your wife isn’t able to play music on the Google Home device when you’re not at home. I understand how important it is for you to grant her access and use the Google Home to play the music she wants. Help’s here!

It sounds like the inconvenience is that your wife's voice isn't being recognized on your Google Home, possibly because only your primary account is linked to it and YouTube Music. To address your questions, sharing your account on her phone isn't necessary, and it may cause difficulties with voice recognition.

Instead, your wife should create her own Google account (if she doesn't have one already). Then, you can use the Google Home app to add her to your "Home." This will allow her to control devices in your home and have her voice recognized. For instructions about how to add a family member to your account, please check out this article: Share a home and devices in the Google Home app.

Alternatively, Guest Mode can be enabled, allowing your wife to use your Google Nest speakers or displays with YouTube Music without requiring a personal account. To learn more about how Guest Mode works, you can check out this article: Control your privacy on your shared devices with Guest Mode.
Let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Jenniffer
