Hey Guys,

I have 3 google nests which for some reason stopped providing me with wifi. I have tried unplugging them and plugging them back in but they still don’t work and when saying “hey google” it responds with “sorry somethings not right if it’s still not right try troubleshooting this device in the google chrome app”. Has anyone else had this issue?

thanks guy

Hey oo,

That certainly hasn't been easy for you — let's see what's going on.

A few questions: are you referring to your Nest Wifi devices? If so, what's the status of the light on your Wifi points? Also, can you see your devices on your Google Home app? Try performing a two-minute power cycle of the network.

  1. Disconnect the power from the modem.
  2. Disconnect the Ethernet cable and power cord from the parent point.
  3. Disconnect the power cord from the child point.
  4. Leave everything unplugged for 2 minutes.
    • Start a timer to track.
    • Check the make and model of the modem and make sure there isn't a backup battery. If there’s a backup battery, ask the customer to remove the battery, otherwise it won't perform a power cycle.
  5. Connect the power to the modem and allow the modem to fully power on before proceeding. This process can take up to a minute.
    • All light indicators should be solid colors.
    • Connect the Ethernet cable, then the power cable to the parent point. Wait until it’s fully back online.
  6. Connect the power cord to the child point(s).

Thanks,

Alex
