We added a govee light display using madder. We can manually turn it on and off but when we try to write a. Automation for it to turn on at 5pm and off at 12am they each save with errors.  No where can we figure out what the error is.  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Hi Bean981,

Thanks for reaching out to our community.

I understand that you're running a Govee light display via Matter, and while you can manually control it, setting up an automation on at 5 PM, off at 12 AM results in an error message when you try to save the routine. No worries, I'm here to help you get this resolved

To get started, please provide some more information by answering these questions:

  1. Do you have the latest version of the Google Home app? If not, you can find helpful instructions in this Google Nest Help Center article: Update the Google Home app.
  2. What smartphone are you using to control the Govee light display?
  3. Is the operating system of your smartphones updated?
  4. Are you using Script Editor or the Google Home app to set up your automations?
  5. If you are using the Script Editor, are you accessing it with the Google Home for web or with the mobile Google Home app?
  6. Was this routine created using the Google Home app or a third-party app?
  7. Is this a Personal or Household Routine?
  8. Is the Activate Routine toggle enabled? (To verify it, please go to the Routine editor and verify that the Activate Routine toggle is in the on position).
  9. Can you find an entry in the Activity tab for the routine running? To find it, please open the Google Home app, then tap on “Activity” and find “Routine started” events. The entry should include the time the routine ran, the name of the routine, and what caused the routine to start.

 Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Virna

1.  Yes

2.  Google pixel 9 pro

3.  Yes

4.   home app under automations on my phone

5.  N/a

6.home app on my phone.  Was not done as routine but automation.  Not sure if those are the same.

7. Again not a routine so it didn't ask that question

8.  It was when it was set up but saved with errors and did not explain the error.  So then it automatically went to inactive.

9.  The automation has yet to run.
