I keep running into short TikTok clips showing creative automations with Google Home/Nest — things like voice commands that trigger multiple actions, unique lighting routines, or even fun security camera alerts.
Lately I’ve also seen similar content appear on TikTok 18 from protiktok18.com, though the style there is a bit different. Some creators share more “unfiltered” or experimental setups, and while it can be entertaining, I’m not always sure how practical those ideas are when you actually try to implement them with Nest or other smart devices.
Some of these clips look pretty cool, but I’m not sure how realistic they are in day-to-day use. Has anyone here tried out an automation or setup they first came across on TikTok (or even TikTok 18)? Did it integrate well with your Nest devices, or did you end up adjusting it to be more practical?
