Heating Source

Pathart

I just installed a Google nest. I have a gas furnace with forced air delivery. For some reason, my nest keeps defaulting to electric heat and does not allow me to change it. This has happened after multiple factory resets.

I have been able to get the heat to run by saying I have a dual system and selecting the app to always run on alternate heat source.

I am wondering if this will cause problems in the future or if I should just let it be. Thanks for your help.

Hey there,

I wanted to follow up and see if I could be of any help. You can change your heating type by following the steps below.

  • Press the thermostat ring to bring up the Quick View menu.
  • Select Settings   Equipment. You’ll see all the wires currently connected to your thermostat.
  • Continue. You’ll see a list of equipment attached to your thermostat.
  • Choose Heat type, then select the type of heating you have.

Please let me know if you are still having any trouble from here, as I would be happy to take a closer look and assist you further.

Best regards,

Jake
