I would like to create a Routine that starts my Roomba vacuum cleaner, but the Roomba doesn't show up as a "Home Device". I have Google Assistant connected to my Roomba so I can command it with my voice, and it reports status over my Google speakers. I have Google Assistant connected to my patio lights, and they show up as "Home Devices". When I go to "Home Control" settings, I can see the patio lights and "iRobot Smart Home" as "linked services". But there's no option to start or stop my Roomba as an activity in a routine. What am I missing?

Hi Memebag,
Not all devices will show in the Google Home app routines but you can add your own custom commands to a routine.
Within the routine add an action and then select "Try adding your own"-"Experiment with custom actions". And within there type out the command you want performed e.g. "Start cleaning the floor".

Cathal

I will try that. Do you know why my patio lights show up as devices but my vacuum cleaner doesn't?

Hi again,
I'm not sure how Google decides what will be shown in the device section but it just seems to be lights, outlets, thermostats and locks. My Chromecast's, TV's, cameras all don't show in that device section.
As mentioned above you can usually achieve other things by using custom typed out commands. Let us know if you need any further help with yours.
