I want a function to start a routine on a specific date

Piria

I want routine work on the desired date.

When accessing the current Google Home and adding a start condition in the routine

  • When talking to Google Assistant
  • specific time
  • sunrise or sunset
  • When the alarm is turned off

I want more features.
I want to run it at a specific date and time.

  • specific date

ex) 2024.1.4 / 18:30:00 / happy birthday music on

There is currently no date function, but we would like to give you an update.
Also, I would like the automation of the scheduled date to be fixed at the top so that it can be checked at all times.

[Application Example]

▼Scheduled routines for the current date (3)
 ▶Happy Birthday (2024.1.4 / 18:30:00)
  └ (Setting task ex) 2024.1.4 / 18:30:00 / Happy birthday music on
 ▶ musical reservation (2024.5.11 / 11:50:00)
  └ (Setting task ex) 2024.5.11 / 11:50:00 / Alarm sound on
 ▶ all kitchen lighting on (2024.6.10 / 20:45:00)
  └ (Setting task ex) 2024.6.10 / 20:45:00 / Kitchen light 1 on / Kitchen light 2 on / Kitchen light 3 on

You can try to set an alarm clock (which could specify a date) on Google's Clock app with a Google Assistant Routine.

For example,

Before Google add this feature to google assistant routine, maybe you can take this approach as a workaround.

I just realized it's still inconvenient to do so because the routine will only start after you dismiss the alarm.

That's a good idea.

I tested it with an Android phone, but confirmed it worked with the Android phone, not the Mini Nest speaker. I was saddened by this result because I want to broadcast from my Nest speakers.

But your answer warmed my heart. thank you. (Let me know if I missed something)

If you wanna broadcast something, you can pick "Try adding your own" in action list and type "Broadcast [something you want to broadcast]"

I need this to, but I did this for a work around.

  • Created a routine with a starter "When I say, OK Google Happy Birthday."
  • Routine has Play Music function to play Happy Birthday Playlist on Potify
  • I recorded myself saying "OK Google Happy Birthday" on my audio recorder app
  • I added that .wav file to my ringtone folder on my phone
  • I created an alarm for a specific date and set the ringtone to be that recording of my voice

Works, but clunky.
