I want to use my Philips Hue Switch as a trigger

Hi,
I'm in the process of replacing my Alexas with the Google Home ecosystem, but for some of my routines, I need the Philips Hue On/Off Switches to trigger automations. Is this possible?

Also, is there a way to put the automation on hold or idle for, say, 30 seconds between actions? That would be very helpful!

I appreciate all responses.

It depends on what version of Google automation you are using. Right now all of Google's automations are big mess with the "old" automations with Personal and Household automations to choose from. Household is where you would use the switch to trigger an automation, but there was no delay or Wait in Alexa language.

Personal did have a delay action, but couldn't be triggered by a device.

But now there's a new version of Google automations that is supposed to rectify that in a combination of Personal and Household, but I am yet to be able to Save any new automation.

Ironically you will have to wait for Google to make the transition from the old Google Assistant to the new and allegedly improved Gemini inspired AI super smart home with the comprehensive redesigned Google Home app before we can use Google as effectively as we want.

An alternative is to continue to use Alexa Routines in conjunction with Google automation.

I have a Google automation that starts after triggered by a WeMo plug (not supported anymore by Alexa) which turns on a light that triggers an Alexa Routine.
