Install Chromecast after reset It doesnt show up in G-Home app+ I dont have remote control with me.

Hi,

We are three months in Indonesie. Bought a Chromecast with Google TV and 4K to be able to look at streamers movies line Netflix and Apple+. Cant get it to work in JogYakarta (worked before): it didnt show up u Google Home app. It said that it couldnt load home. So, I checked what to do with Google support and I did reset as recommended, after having tried all other recommendations. Except restarting the router, since I cant do that while being in an hotel.

How to install my Chromecast? It:

1. doesnt show up in G-Home app

2. I dont have my remote control with me.

3. I have a data only simcard from Indonesia. So, I can use whatsapp, but cant call directly.

What to do? (I am not an expert)

If you've factory reset it, you won't be able to set it up again without the voice remote, unfortunately.

You need the voice remote to complete the setup. Once you're back with your remote:

1. Reset the voice remote.
2. Try these steps to avoid issues during the setup.

Hi,

Thank you for the reminder. We have been in the jungle for sometime, basically without internet or real slow one. So, that is why it took some time to respond. And, no, I didnt go through the steps, since it needs the remote. That I havent with me. That was the problem, so the suggestions are not helpful at all. I must say that I am amazed that there are no ways to install if you havent got the remote.

Hey there Theodam,

I understand your point. However, in order to setup the Chromecast with Google TV, the Google Voice Remote is needed to pair it and begin the configuration process. Without the latter, we can get the Chromecast with Google TV working.
